Confessor
Confessor
|
Confessor is a rather quirky, interesting band from North Carolina. They signed with Earache Records in the early nineties, but their style was quite unlike the hardcore/death-oriented bands associated with Earache, instead opting for a twisted, doomy musical style with wailing vocals over the top. A pretty original sound, maybe sounding a little like a more adventurous Solitude Aeturnus in places. They broke up after one album and EP, with the rhythm section later forming Fly Machine.
In 2002 the band came back together, under unfortunate circumstances (playing a benefit gig for recently deceased guitarist Ivan Colon), and have decided to carry on, at least in part in tribute to their fallen guitarist. Their long-awaited comeback album, Unravelled, was released in late 2005.
