Dark Age
Dark Age
|
Dark Age is a veteran melodic death metal band from Hamburg, with a slew of albums released since their debut in 1999. Reviewed here is 2008's Minus Exitus, a modern melodic death metal album with a few nods to the American metalcore style as well. Many of the choruses feature clean vocals constrasting the more traditional deathy main vocals (again a popular trait with modern melodeath), while the songs are at times almost catchy and always well played, bolstered by a pristine production. Overall it's a bit on the safe and generic side, but give credit where credit is due -- Minus Exitus shows a band hitting its stride and doing what they do well.
