Detente Detente
a Thrash Metal band from Los Angeles, CA, USA   flag

official  myspace
Last Update: November 07, 2009

info

Detente was a slightly punk-flavored and politically charged thrash band who released one respected album, Recognize No Authority, after a previous appearance on the Metal Massacre VII compilation. But continual personal problems between the various members (often centered around vocalist Dawn Crosby) caused the disbanding of the group soon after the album's release. Eventually the band mutated into Crosby's second group, Fear Of God. Of some note is the fact that guitarist Ross Robinson is the same Ross Robinson who became a well-known producer, having produced such bands as Korn, Sepultura, Fear Factory, Machine Head, and others.

As of 2008, a modified lineup has been active, with Hellion vocalist Ann Boleyn and Fear Of God guitarist Michael Carlino joining original members Dennis Butler, Caleb Quinn, and Steve Hochheiser. Now an official reformation of the band, they are working on new material as of this writing.

Upcoming album: Decline, due December 2009.
