Lamb Of God began life as Burn The Priest, releasing one self-titled album before coming to the realization that that monicker misrepresented them. They switched to Lamb Of God in time to release New American Gospel in 2000, and the band has risen steadily in popularity ever since, even signing to a major label in 2004. With a style that incorporates death, thrash, and metalcore, they embody extreme metal, and are now one of America's leading metal bands.
