One of a few Israeli metal bands, Orphaned Land play slow-to-mid-paced death metal, with the occasional nod to their homeland in the form of some interesting Middle Eastern-sounding melodies, giving them a bit more diversity than many in their field. After two albums in the mid-nineties, the band was not heard from for some time, but their long awaited third album, Mabool, has finally been released, to stellar reviews thus far.
