Guitarist Zakk Wylde was already a well-known figure in the metal world by the time he put together Pride & Glory in the early nineties, playing in Ozzy Osbourne's band since 1988. Pride & Glory, this band's only release, was put out in 1994, showing a different side to Wylde than what he does with Ozzy, this album heavily in the Southern rock vein, often acoustic-based, though there are traces of the style that he would eventually develop in his later solo band, Black Label Society.
