Named for one of their early rehearsal locations if memory serves, Parkway Drive are arguably one of the better metalcore bands from down under, debutting with an EP in 2004 before releasing Killing With A Smile in 2005 and Horizons two years later. For the time being these guys are more or less a standard-issue metalcore band, featuring the usual trademarks such as brutal vocals (with the occasional clean voice coming through), breakdowns, and the faint Swedish melodic death metal style that often has been associated with recent metalcore bands. To their credit, not every band has to be completely original to be good at what they do, and Parkway Drive are more than competent within the metalcore genre.
