The brainchild of one Henning "Zet" Ramseth (indeed, this project was a one-man solo effort for some time before a proper band was recruited), Ram-Zet is a unique and original modern metal band, fusing several disparate influences to forge an ambitious, diverse, and fascinating style. There are two distinct vocal styles (Zet's black-ish rasp, and some very nice clear female vocals), a dark power metal base augmented by occasional techno/industrial keyboard work, progressive overtones, and enough twists and turns to keep the listener interested but not bewildered. As with many bands outside a specific genre or style, Ram-Zet takes some getting used to -- they are not an immediate listen, but well worth a bit of patience.
