Satan's Host
Satan's Host

Satan's Host was one of a seemingly endless supply of 80's indie bands that were releasing albums at the height of the metal underground scene. With an unimaginative album name (Metal From Hell) as well as not terribly impressive songs, their debut album's only item of note was the appearance of none other than Jag Panzer vocalist Harry "The Tyrant" Conklin, using a pseudonym as did the other members. Though the album really isn't very exciting, it has generated a bit of cult interest among metal collectors.
The band seemed to disappear shortly after Metal From Hell and surely many believed the band to be a one-album, long-disbanded group, but as it turns out, the band has survived all these years and is still active, though Tyrant is long gone. Led by guitarist Patrick Evil, several self-financed albums have been released, apparently only found in Colorado. Based on a few samples, it would appear that the musical direction mixes black metal attitude with an 80's power metal base. They've recently signed to a label (Moribund Cult) that might help them get more exposure.
