I frequently receive email from new bands wishing to be featured on this site. While I fully support new young metal bands, and realize that exposure is important to them, for practical reasons I can't simply add every band that asks. So, if you're representing a band that wants to be added, read the following first.
First, your band must have released an "official" album or EP. "Official" doesn't necessarily mean released on some major label, but it does mean no promos, demos, rehearsals, or CD-Rs. If you aren't at this stage yet, come back to me when you are. Again, this is not because I don't think it's important to support up-and-coming bands, but I simply don't have the resources to review every band out there, and so I had to draw the line somewhere.
Second, I need to hear your album or EP. Not just a few songs you might have on MySpace, but the whole thing. That doesn't necessarily mean I require the actual CD, but I do need to have access to all the songs, and not just 30-second clips of the songs.
If you're still on board with this, then we can proceed. There are two ways to get the songs to me. One, of course, is for you to send me a CD in the mail. If that is your preferred method, email me and I'll send you my address. Alternatively, if you have access to an FTP site, you can upload the files there and allow me to download them (I will not distribute them to anyone). There are also sites such as SendSpace and RapidShare, that allow transmission of large files -- these will work too. (In the past I've mentioned the possibility of you uploading to my FTP site, but at this time that option is not available.)
Finally, and I must stress this, even if you send me something, I cannot guarantee that you'll be featured on my site. Again, I am just one guy, doing this in my spare time as a hobby. If you send me something, I'll make an effort to feature you on my site, though it will take awhile. But I can't promise anything -- I don't want to promise something I can't deliver.
One more note -- though this site tries to cover many styles of metal, I have to admit there are certain genres I like more than others, and those that I prefer may have a better chance of being featured. To be honest, styles such as brutal death metal, metalcore, and grindcore are not my favorites, while technically-minded, progressive, ecletic genres are much more to my liking, alongside some of the more traditional genres such as doom or thrash. Really, the more original you are, the better chance I'll like what you've got. That still doesn't guarantee anything, but I feel like I should clarify my position.
