Grindcore

Grindcore bands usually focus on very short songs, each a burst of frenzied noise, yet often with surprising depth and skill in the musicianship department. It is often labelled as an offshoot or a subgenre of death metal, though its origins would imply otherwise. Napalm Death may or may not have invented the genre, but their early works are considered grindcore classics.
