Another fine year in metal, with Mekong Delta, Crimson Glory, and King Diamond hitting their peaks. The three bands with debut albums here (Blind Illusion, Genocide, and Realm) would never again appear on a top ten list.

Once again, few surprises, as the big boys continue to garner votes. Fates Warning, perhaps, is a bit of a surprise, though certainly well-deserving of a slot here.
