The interestingly-named Ab:Norm formed in 1997 and eventually
was joined by
vocalist Felix Stass, leading many to call this band simply a
Crematory side project, which is somewhat misleading.
Ab:Norm sound nothing like Crematory, and in fact Stass' vocals
aren't terribly similar to his Crematory days either, as
(the only album released thus far) is full-on
grindy death metal, with a few interesting twists and turns along
the way to keep things interesting.
They are still active (Crematory is now also active, with Stass
presumably participating in both bands), working on a second album.
