Aftermath

A very intriguing band,
Aftermath played an inventive form of technical progressive
semi-thrash (somewhat similar to
Anacrusis),
with a vocalist that
sounded uncannily like Ron Broder of
Coroner.
The band had signed to Big Chief Records just before that
label went out of business, forcing them to self-finance their
recording before signing to a local Chicago label for the eventual
release of
Eyes of Tomorrow in 1994.
By 1997 the band had shifted direction (now more of a alternative
rock band), and after losing a court battle over the ownership
of the name Aftermath (rapper Dr. Dre won that case), the members
changed name to Mother God Moviestar, releasing at least one album
in 1998.
