Aghora

It was only a matter of time before the members of the late great
Cynic
got involved in new bands, and Aghora is one such band,
founded by guitarist Santiago Dobles and originally featuring
the Cynic rhythm section of Sean Reinert and Sean Malone,
Aghora, the album, is an intriguing fusion/metal/rock album,
featuring smooth melodic vocals from Danishta Rivero, excellent
guitarwork from two guitarists with differing backgrounds (one,
Dobles, seems more jazz/fusion-based, the other, Charlie Ekendahl,
metal-based), and exactly the masterful rhythm section work that
one would expect from the Cynic Seans.
There is quite a bit of variety here, the band is quite willing to
explore different moods and styles.
With a new lineup in place, Aghora has finally completed
their followup release, entitled
Formless.
