Argus

Argus is an up-and-coming band on the respected indie
Shadow Kingdom
label, breaking through with a self-titled debut in the spring of 2009.
The notable player here is vocalist Brian Balich, who fronted the fine
Penance
for several years and brings his rock-solid, powerful midrange vocals
to the table.
He's as good as anyone in the field, and is capably backed up the rest
of the band.
The musical style isn't quite traditional doom (though there are plenty
of doomy riffs) but a slightly more uptempo semi-doom metal style,
with plenty of nice harmonized riffs and solos to keep the listener
occupied.
An all-round solid effort in the underground American doom scene.
