Brick Bath

Brick Bath originally went by the name Epitaph, and released
an album under that name in 1996, only to see the label
collapse soon afterward.
They rebounded a few years later with the new name Brick Bath
and a new album,
I Won't Live The Lie, in 2001, followed up
by 2003's
Rebuilt, the album reviewed here.
Musically,
Cowboys-era
Pantera
seems to be the main influence, with Eric Meyer's
flashy yet heavy guitar work gaining the band some points.
Cody Hubbard's vocals, though, tend to dumb down the songs
a bit -- his scratchy, monotonic semi-hardcore growl is too
one-dimensional, thus relegating a lot of the songs to
sounds-the-same status.
The bassist is not mixed well at all, though that's the
only complaint with the production.
Rebuilt has moments, but this band is probably capable of better.
