Cain's Offering  

Cain's Offering is the band formed by guitarist Jani Liimatainen after his departure from Sonata Arctica. On board is an impressive array of musicians, most notably Stratovarius singer Timo Kotipelto. The band's first album, Gather The Faithful, is likely not a surprise given the two aforementioned bands, as this is solidly in the power/progressive metal category, all glossy, melodic (even poppy at times) and airy, with plenty of keyboard/guitar interplay and catchy melodies. Everyone here puts on a solid performance, and of course the production is as pristine as one would expect. An impressive debut from a band with loads of potential.
