Chthonic  


One of a handful of Taiwanese bands to emerge in recent years, Chthonic parlayed a slot on the 2007 Ozzfest tour to gain worldwide acclaim. The band play an aggressive form of symphonic, gothic-laced black metal, clearly influenced by the European standard-bearers, but with several of their own original stamps, including the use of the erhu, an oriental violin, as well as lyrical themes deeply steeped in Taiwanese culture.
