Danzig

Danzig is the band founded by Glenn Danzig after previous stints
with punk bands
Misfits (who have since reformed without him) and
Samhain, the latter of which basically metamorphosed into Danzig
the band.
Until
Blackacidevil, the musical emphasis was on dark,
blues-tinged metal, highlighted by Glenn's unique, forceful vocals.
Lyrically the band were as black as any satanic band one would care
to mention, as evidenced by their controversial videos.
After four albums, the familiar Danzig/Christ/Von/Biscuits lineup
dissolved, with Glenn recruiting a new lineup for the industrial-ish
Blackacidevil, which by most accounts was not favorably received.
Since then the band has returned to the more doomy, bluesy metal
style, and though Glenn's popularity isn't what it was several
years ago, he still is a commanding presence in the metal world.
