Deceased  

Deceased is one of two bands led by one King Fowley, a popular metal personality in his home state of Virginia (his other band is October 31). Formed back in 1985, they became the first band signed to the fledgling Relapse Record label in 1990. They are often lumped in the death metal category, but this isn't entirely appropriate, as while Fowley's vocals fit this tag, much of the music is more rooted in traditional eighties metal, with some thrash and death touches. The result is a raw but forceful metal sound that, at least on Supernatural Addiction (the only album reviewed here), is quite good.

King Fowley has stepped down as drummer of the group for health reasons, but will continue to lead the band as vocalist. Dave Castillo has been recruited to take over on drums.
