Edguy  


Edguy have established themselves as a major player in the ever-popular Euro traditional power metal field, mixing symphonic and speed metal elements to forge a sound similar to bands such as Stratovarius, Angra, or Rhapsody Of Fire, or better yet a mixture of these and other similar bands. While their debut did have a few rough edges (to be fair, the band was mostly teenagers for that recording), by the time of 1999's Theater Of Salvation the band really had put it all together -- flawless production, perfect musicianship, all the elements one would want in such a band.

Edguy aren't about changing the world, or introducing anything really different to heavy metal. But fans of the aforementioned bands could do much worse than this band -- anyone into classy, melodic, symphonic Euro metal should check out this band. In addition to this band, vocalist Tobias Sammet is in charge of the highly regarded Avantasia project.
