Exumer
Possessed By Fire was released at the same time as
Angel Dust's
Into The Dark Past, on the same record label, and not
coincidentally that album is the best reference for Exumer's
sound -- crunchy Germanic thrash along the lines of
Iron Angel,
most likely inspired musically by early Slayer.
On the second album, the Slayer influence is said to be even
more noticeable due to the Araya-esque vocals of Paul Arakari.
They broke up soon after the second album, though they did reunite
in 2001 to play the Wacken Open Air festival.
And, like all good 80's bands, they're back at it, with the two
guitarists surrounded by new members intending to tour and record in
2008 or 2009.
