Forsaken  


Hailing from the remote island of Malta, Forsaken's Evermore hints at doom (especially given vocals strongly reminiscent of Ozzy) but in general is more of a dark power metal album, remarkably mature and diverse given that it's a debut from a band that doesn't hail from a traditional metal area. The album has a classic metal feel without sounding dated or cliched. The band tragically lost their guitarist in early 2001, but have carried on, with an EP and full-length album recorded in recent years.

Note: no relation to the new Swedish death metal band The Forsaken.
