Head Control System

This band has all the makings of an unconventional group
(an interesting name, the appearance of
Ulver
mastermind Garm, the album released on The End Records),
and indeed, Head Control System is a band marching
to a different beat.
This is the brainchild of Daniel Cardoso, formerly in
Sirius
and currently part of
Reaktor,
he basically recruiting Garm to flesh out the project.
When all is said and done, though, perhaps the result
here isn’t quite so surprising, given the two players involved.
Murder Nature is a moody, eclectic, alt-prog-rock-metal album,
a perfect fit for The End Records, with a style that might
at times bring to mind fellow The End artists
Age Of Silence
(by no means a close soundalike, but a kindred spirit).
At times quite heavy, at other times almost catchy, and still
other times serene and strange, it’s clearly one of those
albums that takes some time and effort to absorb.
Whether either Cardoso or Garm choose to make this a full-time
proposition is questionable (they don’t play live, and don’t
appear to want to pursue that direction), but for now
Murder Nature is an excellent avant-garde metal album.
