Isole

The roots of this band date back to the early nineties and a band called Forlorn, founded by the pair of Christer Olsson and Daniel Bryntse. Forlorn released a slew of demos in the nineties but couldn't keep a stable lineup together and they more or less dissolved after almost a decade in the underground. In 2003 a record label (I Hate Records) wanted to sign them, and so a new lineup was put together, and at that point they changed name to Isole. Now three albums into their career, Isole deals in classic, epic doom metal, along the lines of Candlemass or perhaps Solitude Aeturnus, with a sprawling grandeur that almost verges on funeral doom territory. This is quality material, some of the best epic doom in some time.
