Juda's Wake  

A trio of Dixons (brothers? cousins?) comprise this obscure yet intriguing Seattle outfit. Their style is a bit difficult to pinpoint, somewhat of a post-thrash, alternative, modern metal hybrid, with a biting guitar sound, vocals that are vaguely a cross between James Hetfield and (at times) Voivod’s Snake. The fact that they really don’t quite sound like anyone else is certainly a credit, and with a bit more songwriting depth they could mature into something special. As it stands, There Is Only Technology is not a perfect album but worth seeking out.
