Kiss

Simply one of the most popular and influential hard rock bands ever, period. Though most of their mid-to-late period work is decidedly more rock than metal, they definitely warrant inclusion here (as recent Top Ten polls suggest). Can't say that I'm a huge fan of them, apart from the odd early song ("God Of Thunder" comes to mind), but what can I say -- it's KISS!
