Legion Of The Damned  


This Dutch band existed for some time as Occult, debuting in 1994 and releasing a string of albums up until 2003, during which time they were more of a blackened thrash band. In 2005 they announced a name change to Legion Of The Damned, and the first album under that name, Malevolent Rapture, was put out in 2006. Here the band is on death thrash overdrive, with plenty of similarities to Kreator during their faster moments and Slayer when they slow down a bit, all aided by a stellar Andy Classen production. Even at this juncture the band isn't reinventing anything, but this brand of thrash is potent, and they execute it perfectly.
