Life, Sex & Death
Life, Sex & Death were one of those bands with a gimmick, where
the gimmick became more important than the band itself.
The gimmick was vocalist Stanley, who was reportedly a certifiable
homeless street bum.
How true this really was is subject to debate, but by many accounts
he both looked and smelled the part, even when not on stage.
Anyway, their one album, The Silent Majority
, is a somewhat
uneven slice of swaggering hard rock, a bit in the vein of
Stanley's vocals aren't bad at all, a sort of husky, bluesy growl
that suited the music pretty well.
The album won its share of fans but the band really never went
anywhere and were not heard from after the album's release.
