Lizzy Borden  


Like several Los Angeles metal bands of the mid-eighties, Lizzy Borden got their start by appearing on a Metal Massacre compilation (4, in this case), and later went on to record several decent if unspectacular albums for Metal Blade. Musically there were pretty standard for the times -- a Priest/Maiden 80's metal style not unlike other Metal Blade bands such as, perhaps, Savage Grace. Following 1989's Master Of Disguise the band has largely been quiet, if not outright disbanded, save some activity in 2000 resulting in Deal With The Devil. Most recently, Lizzy and two other Devil-era members pursued a side project called Starwood (link below), a band focused more on rock than metal. But in 2005 came the announcement (via the band's official web site) of a new album to be released in 2006, so apparently the band does live on.
