Morbid Saint

Morbid Saint was one of many 80's bands who managed
a short career before disappearing off the face of
the earth -- in this case, a single 1988 album
released on an obscure Mexican label.
This is one album worth tracking down, though,
as
Spectrum Of Death
(also known as
Lock Up Your Children, found as a rare
demo some time before the official release)
is a lost gem, a scorcher, with its death-tinged
thrash never letting up and yet still holding up
years later.
The vocals are interesting, almost a black metal
rasp, not the norm for thrash bands back then.
Though not the most groundbreaking of albums, it
clearly deserves more than a casual mention, and
it most definitely deserves to be part of any respectable
thrash metal collection.
A modified lineup came together in 2010, and in 2012 a retrospective,
Thrashaholic*, was released, combining the *Spectrum album along
with their 1992 demo (
Destruction System) and other tracks.
