Merciless Death  


It just doesn't get any more retro than this, this trio of Californians donning leather jackets and bashing out tunes that are straight from the early thrash heyday (even the song titles sound like 1985 outtakes). Throw the early tunes from Dark Angel, Sodom, Exodus, and Destruction in a blender and this is the sort of stuff that results -- short, fast, mindless yet instantly headbangable classics. There's absolutely nothing modern about this band, which makes it all the more fun.
