One-Way Mirror

One-Way Mirror brings together several musicians from some well-known
European extreme metal bands
(most notably
Scarve
and
Soilwork),
with their debut self-titled album arriving in 2008.
Simplisticly,
One-Way Mirror is a typical modern metal/metalcore
record with some industrial influences, with the requisite
wall-of-sound guitars and plenty of harsh-verse-clean-chorus vocals.
Speaking of the vocals, he's all over the place, able to mix hardcore
shouts with harmonized clean vocals with ease, and there are also frequent
industrial-ish vocal effects, which don't always seem necessary.
A powerful record, yes, but also rather generic when all is said and done.
Really, for better and for worse, this embodies modern rock/metal as well
as anything out there.
There's nothing wrong here, and if the guys stick together here rather
than treating this as a side project there's plenty of untapped potential
here, but for now this comes off as ordinary for the style.
