Panzerchrist
Apparently it is obligatory that in any mention of Panzerchrist,
one must be
reminded that this is home to "the world's fastest drummer".
It appears that said drummer, Reno Kiilerich, won some competition
somewhere,
and yes, he's definitely an excellent drummer
(he has also joined
Dimmu Borgir
in addition to his duties here).
Anyway, Panzerchrist is one of the better-known Danish death metal
bands
(arguably
Konkhra
might be tops in terms of name recognition),
having formed around 1994 and now with five albums to their credit.
Interestingly, the album reviewed here,
Soul Collector,
is sung entirely
in German, with lyrics focusing on war, at least a marginal
departure from typical death metal themes.
Good stuff.
