Rainbow

Basically Ritchie Blackmore's solo band following his departure from Deep Purple in the mid-seventies, Rainbow is also where vocalist Ronnie James Dio first came into prominence (he was in an earlier band called Elf, but it was here that he became well known, before moving on to Black Sabbath and later his own band). As can be seen below, a number of well-known hard rock musicians have taken part in the band over the years.
