Speak No Evil

Hailing from Los Angeles, Speak No Evil's debut was quite plainly
influenced by
Badmotorfinger-era
Soundgarden,
both musically and vocally, as Curtis Skelton's soulful vocals are
quite similar to Chris Cornell's.
By the time of the followup,
Welcome To The Downside, the
Soundgarden
similarities were toned down just a bit, with the band being
a bit harder and leaner, drawing some comparisons to, perhaps,
Sevendust.
Both albums are quite good in their own right, but due to whatever
reasons
(label mismanagement, perhaps), they didn't get a lot of exposure.
For the last several years they have laid low, with a new
(as yet unfinalized, or at least unpublicized) lineup working
working on new material that, at one time, was said to be in a
substantially different direction then their previous music.
