Solstice

Floridians just couldn't get enough death metal in the nineties,
as the state produced a multitude of quality bands during that
time.
Solstice wasn't as well known as their contempories such as
Obituary
or
Deicide,
but they did manage two good albums in 1992 and 1995.
They disbanded soon afterward but have resurfaced from time
to time,
and as late as spring 2006 drummer Alex Marquez has stated
that they are together and hoping for a third album.
Note: no relation to the British doom band
Solstice.
