The End

Canada's The End specialize in that smallish world sometimes
referred to as mathcore, their songs featuring twisted riffs,
vicious hardcore screaming, and practically nothing in the
way of tap-your-feet, 4/4 sing-alongs.
The Dillinger Escape Plan
is the first name to come to mind when thinking of bands
like this, they being the primary influence on a growing
number of bands playing angry, yet insanely technical
metalcore.
The End, then, clearly belongs in the same field, as a
contemporary of DEP rather than a clone, their style
perhaps just a shade less chaotic than DEP (though that's
a relative statement -- make no mistake, The End is
all over the place with angular riffs and inhuman drumming).
Like others in this genre, it might take a
bit of fine-tuning and harnessing of their energy to rise
above cult status, but their future is wide open.
