Typhus
Led by Lord Typhus (also the singer of another
American black metal band,
Fog),
Typhus has to be
one of the most Norwegian-sounding
American black metal bands in existence, as they
specialize in the frosty, biting black metal style
made famous by
Darkthrone
and the like back in the day.
The blasphemous-for-shock-value lyrics are a bit much,
even by normal anti-Christian black metal standards
(just look at the song titles), to the point that it's
quite difficult to take this band seriously.
Lyrics aside, however, it has to be said that these
guys do play the style with conviction --
certainly not a band to convert non-black metal
fans, but black metal completists should get into this.
