Formed back in 1985 by Rob Cummings (who took the name Rob Straker on early recordings and later changed to Rob Zombie) and Sean Yseult, White Zombie rose from the depths of New York to superstardom, thanks to their unique and potent blend of metal, psychedelia, and the hint of Ministry-style industrialism (most evident on their last album). It was once quoted here that Beavis and Butthead broke the band big, which isn't really accurate, though there is no question that they benefitted greatly from MTV exposure, due to their creative use of visuals. They broke up after the release of Astrocreep 2000, simply citing a desire to move on, though Rob's solo work essentially keeps the Zombie flame burning.
