Witch Mountain

Witch Mountain was formed in 1997 by Rob Wrong and Nathan Carson, and by 2001 they'd released an EP and an album. They then apparently went on hiatus, as their next album didn't come out until 2011, which featured the debut of vocalist Uta Plotkin, a real find. They've been firing on all cylinders since, with their 2014 Mobile Of Angels featuring an impressive array of relaxed, ponderous, bluesy barroom doom, with wonderfully graceful and soaring vocals from Plotkin (though she's sadly since retired from the scene). One of the best Pacific Northwest doom bands in the scene.
