My tastes in extreme music are becoming even more eclectic, as evidenced by the number of releases from The End, the oddball metal specialists. Still, there is some real metal here, including an appearance by Motorhead, a mere 24 years (!) since they last landed on my top ten list!

An interesting mix of predictability (Iron Maiden and Slayer fans vote very loyally) and surprises (Amon Amarth in particular) highlight this year's list so far. Motorhead hasn't been this high in the polls for some time, and it's deserving this year, as Kiss Of Death really is one of Lemmy's best albums in years.
