Self-proclaimed as "the most evil band in Japan",
Abigail is one of those cult underground bands that are
clearly not interested in any sort of mainstream approval
but are instead
content to bash out their own brand of music to whomever
wants to listen.
Like some other lesser-known Japanese bands
(Sabbat, for example),
their complete discography is a jumbled mess of rare
split EPs and singles and tapes and such, with only the
more "official" full-length albums shown below.
Musically, their debut "Intercourse And Lust" is squarely
in the
Venom/
Hellhammer
mold of messy, raw, thrashy metal, while
Forever Street Metal Bitch retains the over-the-top
feeling while adding a bit of punkiness to the mix,
almost like Motorhead on super-overdrive mixed in with
some hardcore-ish speed bursts.
The vocals are incomprehensibly raw screaming, though
actually rather distantly mixed, which lessens their
impact.
No doubt the sort of band that many will write off
as a noisy mess while a small minority will find godly indeed.
