The Berzerker

Originally conceived as a solo project in 1995, The Berzerker arrived on the Australian scene as a rather mysterious band, the members referenced only by their instruments ("The Vocalist", "The Guitarist", etc) and wearing masks on stage. Eventually the masks disappeared, some names revealed, but their style remained intact, that being a frenzied death metal assault laced with industrial touches such as a few samples and drums that often sound programmed (but aren't, at least on their second album, though some of the blast beats do sound inhumanly fast), a veritable sonic blast that bludgeons with each succeeding track. They stopped playing live in late 2009, went dormant for some time, and eventually confirmed their breakup in late 2010.
