Bio-Cancer
The unmistakeable 80's-inspired cover artwork would seem to
slot this Greek band squarely in the retro thrash category.
And that's largely correct, as Bio-Cancer is a modern thrash
band with strong 80's influences.
But while many such bands seem to want to ape
Bonded By Blood
and stop there, Bio-Cancer is pushing the genre forward with
renewed vigor and musicianship.
This band is unbelievably tight, the songs racing at the speed of light,
with an over-the-top vocal performance from one Lefteris -- his
blackened shrieks can be a bit much, but he's putting every ounce of
his energy into every lyric he sings.
There's no shortage of good thrash bands these days, but
Tormenting The Innocent (the band's 2015 second album) is one of the
most impressive to be released in some time.
