Brain Surgeons

The Brain Surgeons were formed by drummer Albert Bouchard and his wife, vocalist Deborah Frost, some time after the former's departure from Blue Oyster Cult (interesting tidbit -- original guitarist Billy Hilfiger's brother is none other than the famous designer Tommy Hilfiger). They toiled in the New York area for several years, putting out albums and achieving local success but not really making much of a dent otherwise, but then came the somewhat surprising arrival of none other than Ross The Boss, one-time Manowar guitarist. Their only album with Ross is 2006's Denial Of Death, and while it sounds little like BOC or Manowar (or even like the Surgeons' earlier material, according to several accounts), it's simply a joy to listen to, mature hard rock/metal that really doesn't resemble anyone else in particular. They reportedly brokeup around 2007.
