Carnivore
Pete Steele attained near-legendary status when
Type O Negative
took off in the early 90's, but before that he helmed Carnivore,
a street-level thrash band that put out two albums in the
mid-80's.
Pete's vocals actually weren't too dissimilar from his later work,
though the music was clearly of a different ilk.
They performed the occasional reunion gig well after their original
disbandment, though that ended with Steele's death in 2010.
In 2017 two former members decided to reform, both as a new beginning
and as a tribute to Steele, and thus Carnivore A.D. was born.
