Catamenia

Another in a long line of quality Finnish bands to emerge in the last few years, Catamenia was formed in 1995 and has released a string of successful albums for the Massacre label. Musically they are squarely in the symphonic black metal camp, with swirling keyboards accompanying the usual black riffing and vocals to create a cold, yet still energetic, atmosphere. They don't stray too far from the confines of their chosen field, but they are well-versed in black metal, solidly produced, and therefore highly recommended to fans of, say, Dimmu Borgir and the like.
