Chemical Annihilation
Chemical Annihilation hailed from the Northwest and recorded two
demos in 1989, one of which was called
Why Die? and both of which
comprise the 2009 CD re-release, also named
Why Die?.
The difference between the two demos is quite noticeable here, as the
other demo (earlier, self-titled) suffers both from a poor production
(even by demo standards) as well as the songs being a bit directionless.
The
Why Die? songs, on the other hand, show a well-developed thrash
style that makes one wonder why they didn't sign with someone and do
a complete album right then and there.
As it stands, the CD release makes for a fine addition to any 80's
thrash metal collection.
